Cheryl Dyanne (Craig) Vaughn November 17, 2020

Cheryl Dyanne (Craig) Vaughn, 73, of Salem, Oregon, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2020.  At her side, always and forever, was her husband of 23 years.  Her soul and spirit released, she now rests in a far better place.

Born in Salem, Oregon she graduated from North Salem High School.  She enjoyed craftwork, needlepoint, home decorating, travel, professional hair and makeup design, her dogs, the Oregon Coast and in particular Newport.  Her working career included being a small business owner and several positions within the State of Oregon.  Her most gratifying experiences were supporting staff at the Oregon Department of Corrections, and then later at the Oregon Department of Justice handling Employer Child Support Reporting.  She ended her working career by fulfilling a lifelong dream becoming a Black Jack Dealer at Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City.  It was the most fun job she ever had and she had a reputation at this casino as one of their best black dealers during her time there.

Cheryl was a deeply devoted wife and partner. She was tenacious, caring, compassionate, and giving to those in her life. Cheryl was well known for her quick wit and great jokes, and seemed to make friends everywhere she went. Even through the most challenging of times, she never lost her spark for life. Cheryl is sorely missed by her family, friends, and community.

She is survived by her husband Noel L. Vaughn of Salem, son Scott D. Voelsch of Corvallis, grandsons Aaron Voelsch and Tyler Voelsch of Spokane, Washington, step-son Jeffery S. Vaughn and step-grandchildren Ashley Vaughn and Brady Vaughn of Benton, Arkansas, her cousin Gary Hull of San Pedro, California, and her amazing poodle Koko.

Private family services will be held at a future date.

Arrangements are being made by City View Funeral Home, Salem, Oregon.
