Donna Young

Donna was born in Forest Grove, OR to Don and Hellen Salter. She was the baby sister to Betty and Mary.

As a teenager, Donna moved to Newport with her sister Betty and brother-in-law Bill. She went to school at Newport High where she met her life-long friend Rosalie and her future husband Seth.

Mom and Dad were married April 28, 1962, and their family soon grew to include a son Ricky and daughter Teresa. Dad made sure Donna could be a stay-at-home mom which kept true to his values for the family.

Donna learned how to sew very well and made many pieces of clothing for us. She was also a wiz with knitting needles and crochet hooks. Over the years, she made many quits and sweaters for the family. Mom even made a white pantsuit in the 1970’s!

Later in life, Donna worked at the Beverly Beach Store and after a number of years, she went to work at the local Sears store.

Mom and Dad enjoyed 40 years together.

Join us Saturday November 16^th at Newport Highschool Library from Noon to 4p.m. We will enjoy a Potluck Meal and share stories and memories.
