Eleven new COVID-19 cases reported, all younger than 40
All 11 of the new COVID-19 cases reported Friday by Lincoln County Public Health were under the age of 40 — four are juveniles or young children, four are in their 30s, and three are in their 20s.
Only one of the newly reported cases was linked to an outbreak — but no information at all, other than age group, was available for the other 10.
The health department said it was too busy with case investigations and contact tracing, working frantically to track and contain the current outbreak, to dedicate authorized staff to pull case data. A department spokesperson noted that under the circumstances they would not be able to provide the level of detail they have in the past.
There are now 181 cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lincoln County — almost nine times as many as one week ago.
Update — In a press release late Friday afternoon, Lincoln County Public Health reported three additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the total case county to 184. No information on those cases was provided.
