Kathleen Roberge

Kathleen Elizabeth Roberge, 65, passed away September 29th due to complications associated with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born and raised in Toledo, OR, to Thomas and Dorothy Gary and one of eight children.

She graduated from Toledo High School in 1972 where she was active in academics and athletics and was one of the first female athletes from Toledo to participate at the State track meet. Following high school she attended the Oregon College of Education where she continued to participate in athletics (track, field hock and Softball) while earning her degree in Education. Kathy returned to Toledo where she married and lived with Jim Roberge. They raised 3 daughters.

For 30 years Kathy was a devoted educator in many East county schools (Siletz, Eddyville, Toledo middle, Toledo Elementary) and was active in many of the supports and fundraisers in those buildings. For many of those years she was also a dedicated coach, little league through high school.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Larry and Forrest Gary and Sister Janet Gary. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jim, and daughters Jodie (Sean) Williams, Martina Roberge, Elizabeth (Jeff) Sohlstrom, Sisters Laura Larsen, Christine Gary, Colleen (Ben) Childs and Brother John Gary.

She was a loving aunt to her nieces, nephews and cousins and remembered by her 3 grandchildren Colin and Marin Williams and Sydney Sohlstrom.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Toledo Elementary on November 10th, 2019 at 1pm.
