Lillian Elena Holland
Lillian Elena Holland (Ardito) 82, of Newport, Oregon, formally of The Dalles, Oregon and Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Richard R. Holland Sr., and the daughter of the late Giobiatta Ardito (Papa John) and Margherite Ardito (Mama Lisa) of Boston, MA.
Lillian lived her life as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandma and great-grandma and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a faithful devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic church who lived her faith through service and prayer, faithfully saying the Rosary for her family’s intentions and this world. Lillian cheerfully opened her heart and home to anyone in need, feeding them and caring for them. Her love of knitting created many lovely baby blankets, Christmas stocking and slippers to all the kids, grandkids, sons and daughter-in-laws. The monthly family meal where we all gathered around the table laughing and loving each will be forever etched in our hearts.
In addition to her loving and caring husband Richard R. Holland Sr. of 60 years, she is survived by 2 sons; Richard R. Holland Jr. (Charlotte) of Seal Rock Oregon and Paul J. Holland (Lisa) of Georgia; daughter Deborah A. Jones (Max) of Logsden, Oregon; 11 grandchildren, Burt Holland, Chris Holland (Dani), Heather Hosey (Jeremy), Nathan Holland, Matthew Holland, Sarah Holland, Beth Holland, Samantha Nilsen (Tyler) and Matt Jones (Sara), Damon Etter (Lindsay) and Sarah Gilmer (Kyle); 7 great-grandchildren, Sylvia, Ostin, Matthew, Scottie, Zachary, Autumn and one on the way!
She was preceded in death by her son John L. Holland; father Giobatta Ardito; mother Margherite Ardito; her sisters Maria DiGirolamo (Emilio), Theresa McGovern (Francis), Anna Chiota (Anthony).
