Roy W. Robertson, 91, of Waldport passed away peacefully at his home on November 9th surrounded by his wife and children.
Roy was born in March 1929 in Montrose, CO. He lived in various places throughout his life, including Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and California.
He loved kids and made a positive impact on many young lives during his career as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. Upon his retirement he continued to actively volunteer with various organizations, including the Waldport Public Schools and the Oregon Mid-Coast Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, singing in the Coastalaires Barbershop Chorus.
Roy is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Scoville, son Michael Robertson, daughter Shannon Robertson, and daughter Colleen (Gregg) Hemann, brothers Dennis Robertson and Jim Robertson, and sister Linda Ward, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Robertson, mother Iva Robertson Bell, and brother Gary Robertson.
The family would like to especially thank his hospice nurse Mike and his caregiver Dave who blessed his final days with comfort and dignity.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Mid-Coast Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14th at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Waldport with limited attendance. Covid restrictions will be in effect and masks are required. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date.
