Sixth positive COVID-19 case in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY — A sixth person in Lincoln County has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

According to a release from Lincoln County Public Health on Wednesday, May 6, an 80-year-old individual tested positive as part of routine testing prior to an outpatient procedure. The person had been sheltering in place since Gov. Kate Brown’s March 23 “stay home, save lives” executive order, with only minimal trips outside, and so is assumed to be a case of community transmission, the health department said. They were not hospitalized and are self-isolating.

Lincoln County’s fifth case was announced 16 days ago, on April 20, 18 days after its fourth case was confirmed. According to the health department website, four of the county’s six cases have recovered from the illness.
