Terry Trevillyan, of Lincoln City, Oregon, passed away at age 85 on October 14, 2019.
Terry is survived by Alice (Prestis), his wife of 58 years, who he married in Longview, Washington; son Mike Trevillyan of Bellevue, Washington; daughter Sherri Romano and her husband Greg of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren Silvan, Trevan, and Halli Romano; Keith Prestis (brother-in-law) of Longview, Washington and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Yankton, South Dakota in 1933 to John and Olga (Farus) Trevillyan. He had one brother who preceded him in death, Jacques (Marion) Trevillyan of Knoxville, Tennessee. He grew up in Tyndall, South Dakota where he was active in sports and played trumpet in the school band and jazz band. He also helped out at his parents newspaper business. He was in the Army from 1954-1956, stationed in England as a High Speed Radio Operator. Terry then attended University of South Dakota, before heading west to Pacific University Optometry School in Forest Grove, Oregon where he received a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1963.
He re-enlisted in the Army in 1965 as Optometry Officer, 2nd Lieutenant, then headed to Basset Army Hospital at Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. He had many great hunting and fishing adventures during his tour in Alaska. He was promoted to Captain in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1968.
Terry and Alice moved to Hermiston, Oregon with their young family in 1968, where he served many members of the community through his optometry practice. He also enjoyed being a member of the Hermiston Kiwanis Club for 30 years, where he met many of his lifelong friends. Terry loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping trips with family and friends in their RV.
After retiring, Terry and Alice moved to the Oregon coast in 1999. They loved exploring the beautiful coast, walking the beaches, and searching for agates and other treasures, including glass balls in Lincoln City. As avid fans of Jazz music, they enjoyed Jazz concerts and plays at the PAC in Newport and in Lincoln City. Terry also loved being a grandpa and left his grandkids with many happy memories.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City, Oregon.
